Football Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Wins Game

Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards during the contest.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal offensive display, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to drive for a possible winning score. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 net yards passing, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," the coach stated after the game.
